DESCRIPTION
A sterile, non-pyrogenic solution for fluid replenishment and caloric supply in single dose containers for intravenous administration.
INDICATIONS AND USAGE
To treat dehydration and provide source of calories through intravenous administration.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
As directed by a physician. Dosage is dependent upon the age, weight and clinical condition of the patient as well as laboratory determinations. Dosage consideration is 500 mg / kg bodyweight / hour intravenously for individual with normal metabolism.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Patient with hyperglycemia, diabetic insipidus, glucose – galactose malabsorption syndrome, anuria, intracranial or intraspinal hemorrhage.
SIDE EFFECTS
- Hypophosphatemia, hypomagnesemia, hypoglycemia, hypocalcemia, circulatory collapse, anuria, oliguria, edema, thrombophlebitis. Reactions that may occur because of the solution or the technique of administration include febrile response, infection at site of injection, thrombosis or vein phlebitis extending from the site of injection and extravasation.
- Stop immediately and evaluate patients if side effects develop.
CAUTION
This solution should be used with care in patients with diabetic insipidus, renal failure, severe sepsis and pre-post trauma.
ATTENTION
Do not use if the bottle is damaged, has cloudy solution or contains particles.
STORAGE CONDITION
The product has to be stored below 30°C.
